| John Kennedy McMaster joined the Royal Australian Air Force at age 20 and commenced flight training at 3ITS Kingaroy in June 1942 as an LAC. During his time in the RAAF he flew out of 5EFTS Narromine, 8SFTS Bundaberg, CFS Tamworth, 8SFTS Parkes, 5 Comm Unit Mareeba and 5 Comm Unit Garbutt. He was honourably discharged from service on 15 May 1946. He was a Sergeant, Flight Sergeant, Warrant Officer and Flight Instructor.
