| Several weeks ago SBS aired "The Greatest Air Race". This is the story of the 1919 flight of Ross & Keith Smith with Bennett and Shiers. https://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/video/1648145475582/the-greatest-air-race There is also a book called "Anzac & Aviator" by Michael Molkentin which tells Sir Ross Smiths story from outback SA to Gallipoli to RFC and the air race. Just started the book, good read. It is interesting to note that the 10K prize with split evenly between all the crew members. |
