Yeah Brenden, but why do they use blue in the drab uniforms?
Maybe they thought AF always wore blue...

I thought the blue uniforms came out in the 50's? and during the 40's it was olive drab/khaki? Happy to be corrected.

Congratulations to the team for yet another high quality edition! An informative read, and a huge amount of research going on here. Well done.

Brenden: "I thought the blue uniforms came out in the 50's? and during the 40's it was olive drab/khaki? Happy to be corrected."

The lightweight/summer drab uniform was in until 1970s/1980s. After that it became the year-round blue uniform, with jacket as required. The point is during WWII, in the tropics it was drabs, not blue.

Derek,

Many thanks for your appreciation of the Newsletter. Shep in particular puts a lot of time into it, and unfortunately it does not appear appreciated by the Facebook readers.

And thanks also for your help with the Wackett article.
