I was in Sydney on the weekend (31st September/ 1st October) and decided to stay an extra day and visit HARS.
Imagine my disappointment upon arrival at Albion Park to be told that they were closed for renovations.
Surely something could have been put on their website earlier than Friday 30th September
Even that announcement was just a note in the final paragraph of a press release for Ryan Campbell's around the world flight
Not happy! mad.gif

Therefore if you are planning a visit to HARS in the next few months check that they are going to be open.

Yes, it hasn't been handled very well and even many of the members have been locked out.
I believe it's due to political wrangling between current and former members, who seem to take themselves a bit too seriously. Various complaints to CASA and other, non aviation regulatory bodies, had lead to HARS undertaking a comprehensive program of upgrade works.

Must be hurting them financially.

Its now open again I believe. They have just flown an ex Qantas 747-400 (city of Canberra) into Albion Park as a Museum exhibit.
