Hi All, I recently found the attached US Air Force photo on the Fold 3 website. It shows C-47 41-18648 "Star Duster" in New Guinea some time in either late 1942 or early 1943. The aircraft crashed near Monto in Queensland in November 1943, killing all on board - including two RAAF personnel: http://www.raafdb.com/view_casualty.asp?id=94 http://www.raafdb.com/view_casualty.asp?id=106 This is especially interesting to me as LAC Hore was my grandfather's cousin. He served in the 8th Division, AIF before enlisting with the RAAF. Cheers, Daniel |
