I have added an album of photographs from the collection of Eric Douglas (1902-1970)
http://www.adf-gallery.com.au/gallery/Eric_Douglas

We thank his daughter Sally Douglas for making these photos available and for adding comments and including some of Eric's personal notes.

Gilbert Eric Douglas had a long career in the RAAF retiring as Group Captain in June 1948.
Highlights include the BANZARE Antartic flights with Sir Douglas Mawson, the search for American explorer Lincoln Ellsworth and the search for Anderson and Hitchcock and the lost Westland Widgeon "Kookaburra".
During WWII he was Commanding Officer of 3AD, RAAF Amberley.

What a great collection!

Many thanks to Sally Douglas for making these available for us all to appreciate.

These unique images could have been lost forever and we would have been poored for it.

Good work putting these on line Martin.

Brendan
