The S-2 has already been transferred. Their latest newsletter is that they are going to get Both UH-1's airworthy which is great news.

Thanks for the excellent information Brenden.

Do you have any more on VH-NVV as I can't find anything about its previous identity. Do you know if it flew with the R A N and if so its serial ?

Thanks in advance.

The two Hueys are to be sponsored by Air Affairs Australia who will look after them on behalf of HARS
VH-NVV is the former RAN UH-1B N9-3104
The way I understand it is that there is an arrangement part of AAA's maintenance facilities at Nowra is to become an annex of HARS

Now as far as the C-47B 44-76547 is concerned I think there is some error in the reports that VH-NVD will be back in the air
44-76547 is A65-86 and that is now based at its new home at RAAHC Amberley in very un-Navy like colours

Hi Martin

Thanks for the information about VH-NVV and -NVD.

I thought there may have been a gremlin somewhere when I read the last sentence in the entry for VH-NVD (A65-86)....."Transported by road to Amberley Aviation Heritage Centre 9-12/02/2018".

I'll be interested to see what transpires.

Cheers

Bob

RAN Heritage Sea Fury Arrives at HARS [more at the URL/pics]

https://www.faaaa.asn.au/ran-heritage-sea-fury-arrives-at-hars/

"The Historic Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) is delighted to announce that one of the most iconic RAN Fleet air Arm fighters- the Hawker Sea Fury- has now been unloaded to its new home in Hangar 1 at its Main site at Albion Park Rail airport, for the start of its proposed complete rebuild back to flying status.

The Sea Fury (serial WG630) was one of a number of heritage airframes bought by HARS at the end of 2018 (see article here). It was paid off from service life in November 1959 and was used for a while as a wind machine to test building materials (see photo left), before finding its way to the Australian War Memorial in Canberra in 1986, and thence to the Fleet Air Arm Museum in Nowra. Towards the end of 2018 it was swapped for VW623, which was then in the defunct RAN Historic Flight collection. It was then sold as part of a job lot to HARS...."
