Posted by: Tim D Mar 5 2008, 12:59 AM
Just noticed this photo up on the net (now in Army scheme) - http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=6188949.

Registered to Military Support Services Pty Ltd.
What sorts of support do these guys offer the Army?

Thanks,
Tim

Doing a a rego seach with CASA I note that two CASA 212 aircraft (VH-MQD & MQE) were registered to "Military Support Services PTY LTD" last year:

Not much more to add at the moment.

Update:

Other Photos on the site show VH-MQE in it's former white/blue scheme with the title "Australian Army Parachute Display Team" over the crew access door.

Now I know what it is.
The grey 212 has been a regular visitor to Wagga over the last 6 weeks or so. No idea what it has been doing though.
We have been teasing the Trainees by telling them that it is the new Caribou replacement and that it will be under Army control.

G'day All,

A very belated answer, I know. The CASA 212s are registered to Military Support Services and are used exclusively to support training courses run by the Army's Parachute Training School at Nowra. They are also used to support the 'Red Berets' Army Parachute disply team (which is made up of PTS staff anyway).

Just in case you didn't know. biggrin.gif

NADZAB 2 was noticed at Archerfield earlier this week.

Managed a quick snap, Rockdropper.

Nice shot! Probably the closest the Army will get to fixed wing assets in the forseable future.
