Photo from the Coffs Harbour Museum collection mus 07-12980 captioned " David Nicol refuelling an RAAF Bristol Bulldog aeroplane at Coffs Harbour Aerodrome, 1930s "
Unless I am very much mistaken that is a Wapiti. The tail number looks like 15 or perhaps 13. Very little information in the National Archives apart from the crash of A5-15 near Point Cook 13/08/35.
The Coffs Harbour Advocate mentions a number of Wapiti's in Coffs in the 30s but no details.
David Nicol was the superintendent of the local Shell depot.
