US sale of NZ Skyhawk jets approved
[Video: announcement only at end of this video] http://tvnz.co.nz/national-news/skyhawks-sale-into-us-approved-3051595/video http://tvnz.co.nz/national-news/skyhawks-sale-into-us-approved-3051595 "New Zealand has finally been given the green light to sell its Skyhawk fighter jets in the United States. A deal to sell the jets to a private pilot training school in thr US had originally been agreed in 2005, but for the last four years the sale had been held up by bureaucracy in the US State Department. However, on Wednesday the go-ahead was finally given, with a certificate coming through from the US government allowing the sale, though it is thought there may still be some commercial negotiations to overcome. It's anticipated that pilots from the purchasing company will be soon visit New Zealand to conduct test flights in the jets." |

Seems Kiwis in the know suggest too costly to get all of them going and then some only may fly again if the price is right. Early days...
