"Dicing with Death" by Arthur Sandell

This is a 125 page personal account of the author's training and operations from 1941 to 1946. The book covers his training and instructional duties as well as providing a rare and unique insight into the life and times of being a Catalina Navigator with 20 & 43 Squadron. Included in the book is a section on Astro Navigation - the technique used by Navigators to calculate position based on the stars.

The book was the winner of the 2000 RAAF Heritage Award.
