A few minor notes on the Mirage page:
A3-29 and A3-30 loss date is missing (9Apr84) Also, not all the Mirages that went to Pakistan became 90-506 etc. Some became 89-___. I have seen photos of 89-553, 89-562, 89-588. Best wishes, Andy Marden |

Hi Andy,
You are correct with the date of the collision between A3-29 and A3-30 and I have amended the Mirage page Now you have opened a can of worms with the Mirage serials. This has been a bit of a pet project of mine trying to work out the story of the Mirages we sold Pakistan. I don't wish to upset you but I have just spent the last 4 hours trying to verify that the 89 prefix was used and came up blank. In fact 89-553 comes up as a Chengdu F-7 There are many referances to 90-553, 90-562 and 90-588 Also noted is that the prefix denotes the year of acquisition which in the case of the ex-RAAF Mirages was 1990. Can you please post those photos showing the 89 prefix, or tell me where you saw them. I'm not saying that you are wrong in fact I hope that I am and we can correct any errors. Regards Martin |
