Sorry but Dakota A65-3 could be difficult

A65-3 ala VHCTC Douglas C-47A-20-DL 42-32786 A65-3 c/n 9012 20/03/1943 Delivered to the RAAF 20/03/43. Previously A30-17 Not Taken up. 36 Sqn VH-DAC, later VH-CTC. Having taken off from Cooktown to travel to Horn Island, pilot was forced to ditch 40 miles south of Horn Island 0905hrs 14/12/43, off Turtle Head QLD due to the port engine failing. Weather condition were rain squalls. Pilot was F/Lt J D Balfe Serv#272371, Sgt N Properjohn Serv#164049, F/Sgt T H Dennis Serv#425616 and P/O L R T Ballard. Passengers numbered 8 RAAF and 2 Army. Aircraft had 1503Hrs and 35 minutes on airframe at time of loss.


Should be A30-3 per (VH-ABR) "Kanana"

Have you checked out these images, some aircraft have squadron codes and/or names that may help identify them.

G'day all,

Grahame, Martin and I have discussed and agreed to start adding some aircraft video to our gallery.

Any applicable video can be uploaded to our uploads gallery or sent to any 1 of the 3 of us.

Video is preferred to be of 1 aircraft which is identifiable and less than 4mb in size.

For the record I have added our first two video's from Dave Masterson...

Wessex 830 and Seaking 901.
