Hi all
Is anyone able to assist me with completing the full names of the pilots that died during the pre-war period. I've managed to locate some of them but these ones remain elusive. They are: 6 Apr 21 Cpl Bertie Walker Whicker* (is his name Bertie or Albert?) 19 Feb 26 Cdt Alfred J.F Greenwood 25 Feb 29 Flt Lt C.T. Anderson, DFC, RAF (Pilot) 5 Jan 30 Flg Off Leo Ryan 6 Feb 33 AirCdt J. McDonnell and AirCdt K. Crispe 21 Apr 35 AirCdt Lindsey C. Murray 13 Aug 35 AirCdt T.J. Laws 16 Apr 36 AirCdt N.L. Chaplin 23 Mar 37 Plt Off E.J. Eagerty 31 Aug 37 Flg Off Ken W. McKenzie (Pilot) 05 Dec 37 Plt Off Jack F. Fallon (Pilot) 29 May 38 Lac J.A. Gordon (survived) (John Angus Gordon 207528 confirm?) 31 May 38 AC R.C. Lawson* (See A4-27) 24 Nov 38 Plt Off P.J. McDonough (QFI) 28 Apr 39 AC H. Hi Dean,
I know this is an old post, so you might already have these details: 05-JAN-1930 : F/O Leo Joseph Ryan 28-APR-1939 : A4-32 : AC Harrie Clarke (note spelling of surname) Haven't found anything more on the others during my brief search. Am wondering if the London Gazette would have the full name in Anderson's DFC citation. Cheers, Daniel |

Thanks Daniel. I think shortly after I posted this I managed to locate a great source of information through the National Library of Australia where they have digitalised newpapers magazines etc etc.
http://trove.nla.gov.au/ Lately I have barely even looked at any work but I still pick up the information here and there. I just don't do anything with it. Hmmm makes me wonder if I will ever finish it. |
