They have been around for a while; > 5 years.

Mainly used for parachute training and proficency at Nowra etc per SOTG (2 Commando/SOAR/TAG East)and 3rd Battalion (Old Faithful) when it was there before they became part of 1 Brigade in Townsville recently; loosing their Para Role to 2CR.

Best

Good Grief!

How did we miss that from our "other types pages".

We had some message board traffic on these aircraft a few years ago.

http://www.adf-messageboard.com.au/invboar...p?showtopic=943

I'll add creating a page for them to the queue on the "To Do" list!

Yeah they are mainly for freefall courses/currency and supporting the PTS PJIs/riggers who make up the 'Red Berets'.

A bit cheaper and more avaiable that the C-130s. It will be interesting to see if this contract remains in place after the aquisition of the C-27J

These guys have now lost the contact and the aircraft are laid-up at YBAF. Skytraders took over in July and have the two Orange C212-400s based at Nowra.
