Another update today.

This time its the turn of the Lockheed F-4 Lightning (yes the original Lightning from Lockheed!).

Thanks to some great work by Ron Cuskelly & Gordon Birkett this update contains some interesting new information about the identity of A55-3.

This airframe has for a long time believed to have been ex USAAF 41-2122 (MSN 5340) but new research casts doubt in this despite the RAAF E/E.88 noting 41-2122 as A55-3's former serial.

It is now more likely that this was an error, and that in fact A55-3 started life as 41-2144 (MSN 5362).

Ron has recorded more evidence at his outstanding website ADASTRON

Thanks Ron and Gordy for all of your help with this update.

Cheers

Brendan

Hi Folks,

Apologies for the late notice here, but here are a few other updates that occurred last month.

A46 EA-18G Growler

We have added a new page for this type now that it has been allocated the A46 prefix instead of following on from the A44 serial range.

Many thanks to Peter Bourke and Andrew McLaughlin for the input.

Apparently, the Growlers were given the new prefix to distinguish them as new build airframes rather than Growler wired F/A-18F's.

Of course having individual serials in the 3xx helps to further distinguish them from the Classics and Rhinos on the flight line.

Well that and all the specialist kit on the airframe!

Fairey Battle

I have finally completed the page on the "V" serialled Fairey Battles by updating the entries for V1235, V1237, V1238, V1242, V1243 & V1270.

AAFC DG Flugzeugbau DG-1000S Club

Now updated to include a further three airframes - VH-NGJ, VH-NGY and VH-NGZ with more deliveries expected soon.

You might have noticed that our pace of updates has been a little slower this month. Several members of the team are either travelling or attending to family matters at this time, hence the reduced output.

Apologies to all of you who are still awaiting replies to email - we will catch up but it might just take a little longer than usual to get there.

All the best

Brendan
