Found some of my old photos from the 70s. The quality is pretty ordinary but thought they might be of interest One of A4-234 at high range training area. I took this in June or July 1972

Our ride back from high range on another occasion. I was able to enhance the image on my computer and the number on the nose is 766.
This was taken at Lavarack Barracks July 1972. I notice in the image gallery 766 is shown returning from Vietnam November 1971. HMAS Sydney departed Vietnam 8th December 1971 with most of 4RAR and 9 squadron RAAF. The aircraft arrived Amberley 19th December 1971 Cheers Ray Christensen This post has been edited by cristo on Jul 24 2018, 09:16 AM Attached Image |

Thanks Shep A4 -234 had only just got back from Vietnam 4 or 5 months earlier so they probably hadn't got around to repainting it.
Can't remember the name of the strip. It could be Puk Puk I seem to remember it wasn't far from the Hervey Range Road but I can't be sure it was a long time ago. We were up there on a live fire exercise 1RAR mortar pl |
