Nice ones Gordy!

:D

It's rare to see those pivoting outer pylons in use.

Cheers

Yes indeed.

Given the colour scheme, it seems to be late 1972 or early 1973 after getting them out of storage post 1968.

Nice touch per the roundel painting,.......masking etc.

Best

'It's rare to see those pivoting outer pylons in use.'

The aircraft in the video was carrying tanks on stations 2 and 7 on fixed pylons.

The pylons were aligned at 26 degrees wing sweep, the aircraft is taking of at 16 degrees, hence the angle in of the pylon and tank.

They would have swept back to 26 after take off.

The RAAF bought 48 fixed pylons and each aircraft carried 2 pylons with 600 (US) gallon tanks for their delivery flights.

Pivot pylons could only be fitted to Stations 3,4,5 & 6.

Thanks Aardvark, that clears up the question in my mind that if the pylons pivoted why were they at that misaligned angle at take off.
