Hi there,

I was just wondering if the if the RAN Fleet Air Arm or the RAAF has ever seriously thought about acquiring some Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey aircraft to operate off the new Canberra class LHDs. At the moment the V-22 out performs the CH-47D Chinooks in many ways.

Such as range and ferry range , speed. maximum take off weight, higher service ceiling etc. What do you guys think, would it be a useful purchase for the ADF?

Cheers.

What must be considered is the operating costs of both types with the V22 being far more expensive.
