I note that ex RAN Sea Fury WH-589 is for sale in the U.S for $650,000. The aircraft is now highly modified and is flown as a pylon racer and bears the name "Furias" It can be viewed at www.courtesyaircraft.com Good to see that at least it still flies. :)

Hopefully it will be purchased and restored by somebody...it is still in its original colour scheme, the tail is missing and needs to be reconstructed. I'm sure it will go to a good home.

$99,000 U.S is a lot of money for an old aircraft that most likely won't fly again, when you consider the prices that the two Venoms were purchased for. However being an old classic aircraft they are worth a lot of money and at least it will hopefully be preserved by an enthusiast. The Historic Flight at Nowra have a Firefly that they have rebuilt, I believe to flying condition. It would be nice to see one in the air. Along with several other old Naval aircraft that I'd like to see airworthy ;)
Like the Wessex....OK I'm just dreaming.

I heard those crazy buggers who brought the venoms paid a fortune and would happily sell both for half the price of the Sea Fury.... :D

I'm sure only if it were going to a good home!
