I'm looking to purchase a decent SLR camera so I can start taking some decent photos of aircraft. Just wondering if any of the photo experts out there might share their thoughts on what brands/models/lenses etc they use and would highly recommend.
Cheers, Blackcat |

I have a canon EOS 350D with a twin lense kit, it is a bit outdated now and I think they are up to about 650D or more. Any of the modern SLRs with a telephoto lense of around 200/300 will get you good pics. Rod |

I have just bought the new Panasonic Lumix FZ-200 which is a fixed lense digital with a Leica lense and telephoto range equivalent to 25-600mm. They are in great demand locally and mine was the only one delivered of 25 ordered by the dealer. Perhaps not quite the quality of some of the SLRs but so far it is doing an excellent job.

I am going the minimum expense route and buying a Pentax K5 body as I have a Pentax MZ50 film camera and get to all use my existing lenses, filters etc. Saves quite a few $$$$$

G'day,
I use my trusty old Nikon D60 that I picked up in 2008. One short lens and one longer (55-210). Works fine for most situations but I could do with some extra focal length occasionally. Cheers BC |
