Does anyone have any information on this aircraft? I have this as having been shot down on 26 October 1969 with 5 POB, one of whom was killed. I am looking for all details relating to this including the crew names.

Can anyone help out?

'Target Charlie' by Steve Eather has two differing reports on this aircraft.

The text on page 48 says that it was hit on 18 October 1968 landed safely under fire while extracting an SAS patrol. It then took off again and was struck in the engine while under fire again. It was landed in a paddy field after the engine seized. Pilot is given as Flg Off K.W. Wells, RNZAF and LAC Amos is reported as being slightly injured. This report suggests A2-769 was recovered by the US Army and was lost to enemy action in 1971.

The Annex on Page 124 says that it crashed on 26 October 1969 while winching wounded and was destroyed by an SAS Team.

The ADF Serials site also gives the date and report of 26 October 1969.

Any comments from anyone?
