I'm told that this is 486, and is just a hulk. Plans are to mount it on a pole at the entrance to 171 SO Sqn.

Not 486 I'm afraid, she was burnt to the waterline at Oakey some time back. (Why firies continue to feel the need to actually burn old aircraft dumbfounds me!)

Anyway, rant over... I reckon it's 490 based on the silver protective window covering on the quarter door window. Compare the pic with those in the Image Gallery which seems to match. I don't think there were many left in the fleet with right hand quarter door windows.
