G'day guys,
As the title suggests I'm hopeful of aquiring a civilian helicopter & pilot to volunteer his or her time for a few hours to assist with re-locating the AS Cheetah IX engine from Avro Anson A4-4 at Mount Torbreck Victoria. Our work at the memorial site is almost complete and we wish to re-locate the engine to the memorial site. http://www.adf-messageboard.com.au/invboar...?showtopic=2435 Currently it sits in a very steep gully approx 200m below the memorial and it poses a safety concern if anyone went looking for it. I have obtained permission from the DEPI, RAAF and family members of the crew of A4-4 to re-locate & mount it to a frame at the memorial site. Logistically it's a difficult task and at the moment we've come up with a plan to construct a skid to place the engine on and pull it up the mountain with a winch & cables. A helicopter with a cable dangling from it and mounted to the lifting hook at the top of the engine would make this task so much easier. Whilst it might be a bit ambtious in finding a whirlybird and pilot let alone getting them to volunteer his or her time I and everyone who is involved in this project would be extremely grateful for thier help. Thanks for reading. Cheers Anthony ajdykes79@live.com.au 0447752109 This post has been edited by Avro Anson A4-4 on Sep 15 2014, 09:06 PM |
