Iroquois A2-490 Photo's

G'day all,

Len Avery has contacted me in regards to A2-490, we are seeking any photographs anyone may have... see his email;

I have been advised that A2-490 has been "dismantled" and
placed into long term storage at Wallangarra and there is no
indication as to whether it will be rebuilt before it is sold off or
if it is sold where it will end up or if in fact it will ever be rebuilt.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a photo of the aircraft before it
was stripped down and moved to Wallangarra.

Our reason for seeking a photo of the aircraft is because the father
of one of our deceased Army pilots flew in A2-490 with his Son and
he would like to get a photo of the aircraft plus seeing we don't have
a photo of the aircraft on the web site we could use one.

Page 166 of Stewart Wilson's book has a b/w RAAF official photo of A2-490 taken in 1973.

Further to my previous post, Darren Mottram (Motty) has a colour pic of A2-490 on his web site (http://motty.hobbyvista.com/). On the home page go to the helicopters link then Iroquios, the first lot is per Mike Robertson, 290 is the third down on the right. Motty is a member of our forum and can be contacted at (hawk16@tpg.com.au). Given the nature of the request and provided normal photo credits are observed I am sure he will be able to put you in touch with Mike Robertson to obtain permission to use the pic.
