Housekeeping.
index files renamed. Anyone using the straight http://adf-serials.com.au url will now be automatically redirected seamlessly to http://adf-serials.com.au/home.htm by the server. That should sort out the vast majority of people hitting the redirect page that requires them to manually select the link. The url will report as www.adf-gallery.com.au in browsers as inherited from higher up the file tree, unless you use a specific url for the homepage. Logo standardised across adf-serials.com.au pages to: http://www.adf-serials.com/adf-serials.png (IMG:http://www.adf-serials.com/adf-serials.png) All page code URLs connecting to the homepage, whether text or HREF, now point to the correct homepage address. Clicking on the above logo from any adf-serials.com.au web page will now also transfer directly to the correct homepage. (If I've missed any, they should get picked up by the .htaccess rules). NZDF serials logo standardised across adf-serials.com.au pages to: http://www.adf-serials.com.au/nzdf-serials.png Clicking on the that logo from any adf-serials.com.au web page will now also transfer directly to the correct NZDF serials homepage. http://www.nzdf-serials.co.nz/nz-serials/nzaircraft.htm Find us on Facebook URLs for ADF-Serials updated to: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ADFSerials/ All page administrators and authors, please update your bookmarks to the following and make sure you use them in the future: ADF-Serials homepage http://www.adf-serials.com.au/home.htm NZDF-Serials homepage http://www.nzdf-serials.co.nz/nz-serials/nzaircraft.htm ADF-Serials Military Aircraft Group Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/ADFSerials/ Sometime in the next couple of weeks, I'll go through the page code on NZDF Serials and make sure all the logos are standardised and page code URLs point to the correct addresses as well. Once that is all done, I'll be able to delete all the superfluous .SHTML pages off of the server, so we don't have 50 odd redirect pages to update anymore. Please give the site a test and let me know if there are any errors. Cheers, |

Some other Updates and new pages added in September were:
1) A revised layout for the home page adding further links to: - Air Force Cadets (New page split out from "Other") - Captured Aircraft (New Page split out from WWII RAAF I=Units within the RAF) Standby for a major revamp of this section! - NEI Aircraft in Australia (New Page reinstated from our Research Pages) - Aircraft of WWII RNZAF units within RAF (New Page split out from WWII RAAF I=Units within the RAF) 2) We have also added placeholder tiles for future areas of research - more to come! 3) Some other new pages added during the month focus on some serials allocations that were made but the subsequently reallocated to other types when the order or project was cancelled. They include: A8 - Bristol Blenheim A76 - Avro Tudor A23 - AAC Wamira Our Index Pages also reflects more of these serial anomalies. Series Two Series Three See if you can spot them! 4) We are also working up a new page on the Beechcraft Queen Air during its service with the Army Survey Corps - still a work in progress. 5) A page for A26 - Boeing B-17E Flying Fortress is also in production - so stay tuned for that one! Cheers Brendan (IMG:http://www.adf-gallery.com.au/gallery/albums/B-17E-41-2153/B_17E_41_2153.png) |
