Canadian museum honours Australian, Canadaian, New Zealand and Enligh aircrew who trained in Canada under the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan.


During World War II thousands of young Australians enrolled in the RAAF and trained in Canada under the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan. Some twenty years ago a small but dedicated group of ex airmen and ordinary citizens decided that the history, aircraft and artefacts of “The Plan” should be preserved for posterity and they successfully created a Museum in one of the original hangars at the former training school in Brandon, Manitoba.


One of their major accomplishments was the publishing of a Memorial Book listing the names and details of all RCAF causalities together with RAF, RAAF and RNZAF casualties incurred during training in Canada.


LAC WILSON, Gordon Oswald of Highgate Hill is among those remembered in the 892 page book “They Shall Grow Not Old”.

This book looks to be something similiar to Aircrew Losses or visa versa. I just wish I could afford the time to really get stuck into it to see it finished.
