These and other downloads on this page above will be available more or less permanently through kind generosity of webpage owner.

"Scrapbook History of the A4G Skyhawk, other Skyhawks and other RAN FAA aircraft" at 15th May 2008

Short description:
"This very large PDF is primarily about the A4G Skyhawk in Royal Australian Navy Fleet Air Arm service from 1968-84 with supporting pages about other Skyhawks in service, particularly the A4K (KAHU) because surviving A4Gs were on-sold to the Royal New Zealand Air Force in 1984.

To provide a context for the service of A4Gs other jet aircraft in use at that time in the RAN FAA are included, Sea Venoms, Vampires and Macchis. Other aircraft also for context are the Trackers and Wessex and Iroquois, then briefly the currently serving helicopters. Extra pages about HMAS Melbourne and Sydney are included as well as previous era aircraft such as the Sea Fury and Firefly.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Any RAR program (such as WinRAR) is NOT needed to reconstitute the two files (.EXE & .RAR) under discussion here.

This 2 part RAR executable archive has been made to cater for the 2GB file size limit of this web page. The first .EXE file in the archive need to be downloaded with the second part of the archive - the .RAR file - so that when the two parts of the overall PDF RAR archive (when it is reconstituted ) are in the same folder/subdirectory AND when the .exe file is double clicked, the RAR process will commence.

On my fast computer the reconstituting took ONLY 3 minutes. Anyone with a computer older than one year will see a time difference - so be prepared. When the PDF is reconstituted in the same folder it will be 3.41GB with the file name

"RAN_FAA_A4G_stories_15may08_3161pp_3-41Gb.pdf"

The PDF was made on 15th May 2008. It has 3,161 pages and is 3.41GB in file size.
