Does anyone have information on the RAAF Airfield at Pinjarra North in Western Australia that was operating in World War 2. What appears to be the trace of one runway can be seen on Google Earth to the north of the town ( 32deg 36.22S 115 Deg55.5 E) with possibly another runway to the west across the South-West Highway. The local historical society has very little information. The RAAF Museum provided the following:
Quote
It was constructed circa 1943 with two non-intersecting maximum length 5,000 feet (1.524 metres) sealed runways. The western runway was removed during the 1960’s.
No.14 Squadron deployed from RAAF Station Pearce to Pinjarra North extensively from July to September 1944. The site of the Pinjarra North Airfield is about 12km
to the southeast of the Murray Field Airfield. It was listed as an RAAF Emergency Landing Field. No. 14 Squadron flew Anson’s, Hudson’s, and Beaufort aircraft, so I can
confirm that Beauforts definitely operated out of the airfield.

Any additional information and any photographs of the airfield or its operations would be very useful.
Thanks in anticipation

Joe,
Found photo of airfield taken in 1964 by a USAF aircraft, taken from 10.000ft.
