A58-613 allocated to 457 Squadron arrived Morotai 20/12/44. On 1/5/45 438794 Sgt/Pilot Leslie James Skinner arrived Morotai from 8OTU.
5/05/45 Sgt Skinner takes off from Pitoe Strip in A58-613 on a familiarization flight. On landing he over shot on to rough ground and under heavy braking ground looped and tore of the landing gear and damaged the propeller. Sgt. Skinner was unhurt but wrecking a Spitfire four days after arriving at his first operational squadron did not score him any brownie points as he was posted from 457 Squadron on 22/5/45.
A58-613 was recovered by 9RSU on 7/5/45 and went to 60 OBU on Morotai where it was struck of charge and converted to components 12/2/46
