On Ebay at:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RAAF-Douglas-C-4...%3D231685639024 there is a photo of a Dakota IV serial KN359 carrying the callsign VM-YAH on the tail but no codes. It is advertised as an RAAF aircraft but I suspect this is actually from 243 Sqn RAF which was based at Camden from 9 Feb 1945 to 15 Apr 1946. Jim Halley's book 'Squadrons of the Royal Air Force and Commonwealth 1918-1988' notes that 243 Sqn was based at Camden in support of the British bases in the South-west Pacific, mainly those of the British Pacific Fleet and flew up as far as Hong Kong after the surrender. He suggests that many of the squadron personnel were Australian and were demobilised locally when the squadron disbanded. He lists KN350 "VM-YBD" as one of the aircraft on strength. Any comments?
