Hello group,
I need to buy a copy of Meteor, Sabre and Mirage in Australian Service, by Stewart Wilson. ISBN 0 9587978 2 X. 1989.

I'm not familiar with E-Bay or used book stores, so I'm hoping someone can help me locate a copy, and tell me what to do to get it.

Thanks in advance, Wynnum.

If you enquire here you may be lucky to get a lucky last but sadly the pub is no longer listed:

Hi Bruce,

The most comprehensive 2nd hand book web site is bookfinder -

www.bookfinder.com

Here is the specific search for the book you are after

http://www.bookfinder.com/search/?ac=sl&st=sl&qi=MQgqc2EM9Lyod3V4zb3z1JaVSVI_0692386344_1:53:412&bq=author%3Dstewart%2520wilson%26title%3Dmeteor%252C%2520sabre%2520and%2520mirage%2520in%2520australian%2520service

It looks like the softcover is now about $100. I know some of the series is still available new in places (e.g. Hylands in Melbourne) but this seems to be one of the rarer ones these days. It may be possible to stumble on one in an out of the way shop or at swap meets but that may take some time and searching.

Best Wishes

Michael

Luiq, Micheal,

Thanks for you replies - that bookfinder site is just the thing - interesting to see those prices.
I have 13 of those Stewart Wilson books - didn't realise they had value like that.
I need the copy as a gift - guess I'll have to copy the relevant pages of my book.

Thanks again, Cheers, Wynnum, (aka Bruce)

I use bookfinder quite regularly and you have to be aware that some of the prices offered by some book sellers are way over inflated.

The thing with bookfinder is that it is a search engine for OTHER booksellers databases. It is not a "middleman" between the buyer and seller.

Hi

Just in case you want to have a good read until you can buy a copy, and if you are a local, the State Library at South Brisbane has a copy.

They come up on evil bay from time to time, full set on there at the moment: search #390073270188.

Also a lot of the museums around have old copies still in stock and advertise the fact on their websites. I think the Raaf Museum is one and Bankstown is another. Check at your local museum.

I keep an eye out as I need two more to complete the set.

The complete set of 13 softback books just sold on eBay for $165.05.
Sounds like someone got a bargain judging by the prices some of the second hand bookshops are asking for individual books.
