I wish our Army would adopt the 3 colour camo on our chooks (as worn by our blackhawks) - especially on the 7 new delivery Foxtrots! Man they would look nice in that camo...

The Canuck Foxtrots look really nice in their 2 tone scheme.

The plane olive drab is drag! :(

Personally Grumpy, I think a medium/light matt grey scheme per the RAAF C-130Js for the MRH-90s and CH-47Fs, as they stick out something shocking other then on the ground in a Aussie Green Gum tree/Savannah background with the usual dead aussie dry grass in between with shadows. As most sorties are night,...grey is gooooodd. Great in haze.

To fit the Amphibious role of the LPDs in the future, therefore we should take a leaf out of the USMC,..grey, grey and grey ,...in shades of grey grey grey

I think the RNZAF NH-90s have got it right, almost,....except the surface finish,...matt should have been used, but that's a trade off on life cycle of the painting,..gloss is easier to wash
Still, Air superiority is the best camouflage for all slow movers

Back to A15-152, note the removal of the flare dispenser brackets on the rear?
Forgot to use Selly's filler for the holes?

It was great of the Rocky Boys taking the shot :D " Hey Charger"

A15-152 didn't stay in service for too long.
Retired to SAS Swanbourne Barracks 6th August 2015 (Sorry I missed that)

Are the Army's CH-47Fs new build airframes or rebuilt CH-47Ds ?

They're all new builds,...and to-date, if purchased through FMS,..still can't find the &^^%$#@ FMS Serials

A new CH-47F had an emergency "fire warning" and smoke yesterday and forced landed. Must have been bad as the crew were airlifted by a sister aircraft to Townsville General.

Thanks Warhawk ; I've noticed that many CH-47Fs are rebuilt CH-47Ds so it's good to see tha ours aren't "pre-loved". And like you , I can't any serials.

Also interesting to read about the incident yesterday. I wonder if we will hear more about it ?
