Thanks to Neil Follett we have filled a few gaps in our photo collection
Vampires A79-36, 111 , -550, 611, -622, -625, -628, -629, -632, --805, -816,, -823, -831 and -833
Winjeel A85-408,, 414, 416, 417 and -430 (as well as additional photos of -428, -448 and -459)

The process of adding the photos from the uploaded image gallery is slowly proceeding, thanks to all the photographers that have contributed.

Updated the Mustang and Mosquito pages with details of the tragic loss of A68-718, -770, -773 and A52-147 on 18/03/46, thanks to James Oglethorpe

I have quite a few other updates to add, the trouble with taking holidays is the backlog it creates.

Thanks Martin,

I know that this was a herculean effort - so well done!

One update from me today is the revamp of both our Australian and New Zealand Kaman Seasprite pages.

The main change is to update the details of the airframes that are going to the RNZAF/RNZN via Kaman and ex RAN & USN - the saga continues for these well travelled helos!

We don't have the NZ serials tie ups yet for the SH-2G(I) airframes so there's still more to come!

You can see the pages at:

Australian Seasprite Page

New Zealand Seasprite Page

Cheers

Brendan

Thanks to Roger Lambert I have updated the Cessna 180 page with the names of the 3 crew killed in the crash of A98-046 and the news that a memorial plaque has recently been dedicated at Duntroon Chapel

Hi Folks,

It's about time that I gave you a briefing on the many pages that have been updated during August!

Firstly, a big thank you to AIRCDRE Mark Lax who will be known to many of you.

Mark has shared with us some of his research on aircraft operated by:

1 Squadron, AFC in WWI

Research for: One airman's war : aircraft mechanic Joe Bull's personal diaries 1916-1919 / edited by Mark Lax.

(Avro 504, Curtiss JN-3/4, D.H.1a, B.E.2c/e, B.E.12a, Bristol Scout C/D, Martinsyde G100/G102, R.E.8, F.2b, & HP 0/400)

454 Squadron, RAAF in WWII

Research for: Alamein to the Alps - 454 Squadron RAAF 1941-1945 by Mark Lax

(Blenheim I/IV/V, Baltimore III/IIIa/IV/V, Fairchild 24, Spitfire IV & Auster III)

462 Squadron, RAAF in WWII

Research for: To See the Dawn Again - A History of 462 Squadron, RAAF 1942-2008 by Mark Lax & Leon Kane - Maguire (Jan 1, 2008)

(Halifax II/II, Avro Anson)

464 Squadron, RAAF in WWII

Research for: Gestapo hunters : 464 Squadron RAAF, 1942-1945 / by Mark Lax and Leon Kane-Maguire

(Ventura I/II, Mosquito III/VI)

This has lead us to do an update on every Australian Flying Corps aircraft page and every one of the RAAF Article XV aircraft pages.

We created some brand new pages for some types that we were missing altogether.

Also, we have split many pages where the aircraft type was operated by both the RAAF in the "A" Series as well as by either the AFC, CFS or with the RAF as an Article XV Squadron.

Some of the pages that have been created or split include:

AFC Airco D.H.1

AFC Avro 504

A3 Avro 504

AFC RAF S.E.5a

A2 RAF S.E.5a

AFC Maurice Farman MF.11 Shorthorn

AFC Sopwith Pup

A4 Sopwith Pup

Article XV Units Auster III

A11 Auster

Article XV Units Avro Anson

A4 Avro Anson

Article XV Units Avro Lancaster

A66 Avro Lancaster

Article XV Units Brewster Buffalo

A51 Brewster Buffalo

Article XV Units Fairchild 24 Argus

A36 Fairchild 24R

Article XV Units Hawker Hurricane

A60 Hawker Hurricane

Article XV Units Lockheed Hudson

A16 Lockheed Hudson

Article XV Units Lockheed Ventura

A59 Lockheed Ventura

Article XV Units Martin Maryland

Article XV Units Short Sunderland

A18 Short Sunderland

A26 Short Sunderland

Article XV Units Supermarine Spitfire

A58 Supermarine Spitfire

RAN Supermarine Spitfire

I'm sure that there were a few others updated as well, but I think that you get the idea!

Every split page should also have a link back to its companion pages.

I still have a lot of work to go on the Baltimore, Halifax, Mosquito and Ventura pages with information provided by Mark to get on with and this has already commenced with the Baltimore page.

And then there are all of those other pages to work on too!

Also, thanks to Anthony Dykes and David Hibberts, we have a new page on the loss of Anson A4-4 on Mount Torbreck on our Crash Sites & Memorials Page..

Well done to Anthony and the team for restoring the access track to this memorial!

Thanks also to all of our photo contributors for the past month and to Martin Edwards for getting through processing them after returning from his OS trip.

Also, I'd like to make a special mention for the efforts from Gordon Birkett, Mike Mirkovic and Dave Masterson in getting together another edition of our Newsletter - The ADF Serials Telegraph News.

More to come in September!

Cheers

Brendan
