Hi All,
I recently found the attached US Air Force photo on the Fold 3 website. It shows C-47 41-18648 "Star Duster" in New Guinea some time in either late 1942 or early 1943. The aircraft crashed near Monto in Queensland in November 1943, killing all on board - including two RAAF personnel: F/O Frank McLaurin Bartlett, 265197 LAC Hector Richard Hore, 126243 This is especially interesting to me as LAC Hore was my grandfather's cousin. He served in the 8th Division, AIF before enlisting with the RAAF. Cheers, Daniel Attached Image |
