"APR 1974 - Wreckage of Vampire A79-841 which crashed on 9 October 1956 in the sea off Greenwell point was recovered when it became entangled in a fishermans nets. The wing of the aircraft was landed and returned to RANAS NOWRA. The pilot, Commander D. Buchanan had been declared missing presumed dead."

Noted in an 'RAN FAA History Document' by LCDR (retired) Bob 'Windy' Geale (now recently deceased).

The 'contact ticket system' is not working so this info posted here.

Thanks Phil, I have added information to Vampire page.

The contact ticket system has been replaced by an email address
question@adf-serials.com.au
The email message goes directly to Brendan, Gordon and myself and this seems to be working well
