I only just came across the numbers per the new Sea 5000 Programme per the ANZAC FFH replacement. Seems that six, not eight are being ordered and therefore not a one for one replacement.
So the Sea Combat Fleet will be pegged at 3 AWD's, 6FFH's and 12 NG Subs from about 2035. You could add the two LPDs, but that's a "all eggs in the basket" inclusion. Some years ago the Navy were trying to get to 14 in the Surface Warfare Fleet, but settled on 12(4 FFG's and 8 FFH's) With 24 SH-60Rs on order, we may have the reverse and not enough platforms to use them all???? Just highlighting the Sea 5000 program and future surface fleet numbers. Really in all honesty,....I can't see the Navy building 12 x 2030 NG version of Japanese I class Subs of WW2 that can handle aircraft? LOL thoughts? Best Gordy :o Attached Image |
