Well the Vulcan pic generated some discussion, how about this Valiant?
Definately Edinburgh and looks loke a couple of Brittanias in the background, not much to go on for serials though.
There appears to be something slung underneath, a Blue Steel perhaps.
Over to the slueths.

Hi Rod,

Great shot but a bit more of an ID challenge!

Personally, I would hope that it was either WP201 0r WP209 as we dont have picures of these airframes yet in our Valiant Home Page !

A very similar shot does of course feature already in our Valiant Image Gallery with the caption "Valiant taxying with Blue Steel 1961" showing what I would assume to be the same aircraft in the same shot sequence.

So I would agree that this is one of the 8 Valiants based at Edinburgh in 1961.

Any more clues with the photo Rod?

Cheers

Hi BC

To be honest I hadn't seen that pic in the gallery before,I am having trouble keeping up with what you and Martin are uploading.

I have no clues re the pic, it was one of a number that I re-photographed during a visit to the Museum at Mallala last sunday, unfortunately no captions.

I think this is a closer cropped version of the same photo that we have in our Valiant Image Gallery
Don't worry about keeping up Rod, just keep those great historic photos coming

Rod,

I agree with Martin!

We upload at our pace (which varies all the time) but you can catch up at your leisure!

Keep the photo and other contributions coming!

Cheers

BC

P.S. Here is the similar shot from the gallery:
