This photo series was sent to me the other day showing early A4G probably any cruise before the strop catcher was fitted - perhaps 1969 first cruise - showing the strop going into the ocean, as was the case for all aircraft before the strop catcher fitted (after collision with USS Frank E. Evans) which makes catcher fitted during the refit over the end of 1969 - early 1970.

SAR Helo - Wessex - 'PEDRO' Crew from HS 817 Squadron Diary:
QUOTE
"HS 817 Squadron Diary 08 Nov 1973: “The SAR Wessex crewed by LEUT. R.K. Marum, POA Reuter and PO Palmer plucked SBLT Evans out of the sea, unhurt, when his Skyhawk had a "Wet Shot" due to a faulty catapult firing and rolled off the bow into King Neptune's realm.”
