WD827 used to be parked out the front of the Australian Air League hall in Blacktown from 1956 until it was swapped with the Moorabbin Museum for a Vampire. I'm a volunteer with the AAL but this was well before my time! I'm after any photos that readers might have of the Firefly. I'm hoping to build a model of this aircraft but only have black & white photos to work with.

There are two colour photos of this aircraft on our website, taken later in the aircrafts life. You may find it difficult obtaining colour photos of it whilst in service. Most photos taken in those days were in black and white. However you might contact Bob "Windy" Geale at the AMOF, he may have a rare colour photo. He can be contacted through our website email address also.

Thanks Dave,

I saw the Firefly at Moorabbin a few years ago but it'd been repainted as you say. I'll try sending an email to Bob.
