Hi guys,
I was going through our photo archive and found some photos of Aussie DH Mosquitos under construction at the old Mascot workshops. Several serials are visible so Darren, feel free to use them on the ADF Serials website. As with any photos I post on ADF Serials, for personal use feel free to use them but please credit the Australian Bunker and Military Museum Archive as the source. For any commercial use, copyright clearance is required. Cheers This post has been edited by ABMM on Dec 16 2007, 07:45 PM Attached Image |

Thanks ABMM,
The fourth image has me intrigued. It looks like they are making the fuselage moulds that were later used in production. Do you have any original captions or descriptions that accompanied these photos? Cheers Brendan C |

Sorry, The photos didn't come with any captions at all. Our originals are prints donated to ABMM from the official photographer contracted to record the DH plant from the 1930s through to the 1950s.
We have similar photo sets of the Tiger Moth and DH Dragon production lines as well as that from the DH Vampire production line. If anyone's interested I can post them at some stage. Lots of serials are visible. I'm not sure about whether the 4th photo shows moldings or not. I had originally thought that they might be forms for bending the plywood, but I really don't know. |
