Been reported in French press that Australian Army Tigers to deploy to the Sandpit.

That should test them out.

Heard some comments at St Barbaras Day function that tigers did not perform well at recent Hot and High tests with full missile load, sounds like par for the course re our recent purchases.

Hi Rod

If the report is correct, such a deployment would be a bit premature in my opinion given that we have so few in service at present.

And if they performed poorly in the exercise then that's another reason why the Army would need to exercise some care before deploying them o/s.

And I would have thought that those responsible for the procurement of the Tiger verified performance data before purchasing. I hope they didn't rely on a glossy brochure but instead ADF pilots flew the aircraft in all configurations/conditions to verify the manufacturer's claims.

Surely if it didn't perform as advertised then the alarm bells should have rung somewhere.

Hi Demon,
You are absolutely correct in all you say, I can only go on what I overheard.
However some of our recent procurements seem to have by-passed the common sense approach, I guess time will tell!
Rod.

I have been advised that 10 have been delivered, almost half.

That would make sense as I saw A38-011 sitting outside the Aus Aerospace hangars at the MRH-90 handover.
